New pics on 500px! Be sure to check them out. Ok, the bridge was already on this blog and there are only two new pics but it's worth the look.

B&W v2

After a "couldn't-resist-purchase" of some highly desirable (on my wishlist for a very long time) Niksoftware (http://www.niksoftware.com/nikcollection/usa/intro.html) for only 119.-
I started playing with the black&white plugin (Silver Efex).
If you're into B&W and don't own a Leica Monochrom (also on the wishlist) this is a must have.
I will try to do some more updates/pics with this nice piece of software.

First steps are taken

Woohoo!! First step is made. I transfered my blog to my own domain.
Now to think about the new format but at least I don't have to buy new business cards.

Redesigning

Looking at my blog and I decided to redesign the whole bunch. I mean, it was intended to upload my pics and share some experience with my equipment. But most of the pics are on 500px or somewhere on Flickr and some of the stories are more about taking the pics instead of my equipment (there are still a lot of Sony bashers out there)
So there some work to be done here. Please check back to see if I make any progress.

I now have regular shifts in the evening. With a bright moon and some extra elements I took a few more shots. You can check the complete shots (okay, only a few more) @ http://500px.com/phothaws

New shots available at Flickr and 500px. http://500px.com/phothaws

These were taken with my new toy Samyang 8mm. Due to it's focal length it is point and shoot. Don't worry about the only "manual focus" (I shoot most my shots with manual focus, but some seem to have a fobia for manual lenses) Most of the shots with the Samyang 8mm didn't need any focus adjusting.
But take a look and I hope you enjoy.

Also shots on Flickr!

I've discovered Instagram and I like the effects. And to be honest, the sharing of photos is much easier and that's why I can also be found on Flickr! Looking forward to shoot more with my mobile.

Haarlem

For my work as a train traffic controller I want to go outside to see the real situation as it is and answer questions like,
What has changed since my last visit?
Are there any new landmarks which could help determine a location?
Visibility of the signals?
Well, you can think of any question. As long as it helps you to "translate" the abstract lines you normally see on a computerscreen. Apart from that, you get a chance to take pictures you normally can't take.
Today I was in Haarlem (near Amsterdam).

Please note that the pictures were taken in areas that are closed for public. You can only access these areas if you have a railsection certification and wear the proper gear (and I don't mean the camera stuff)
I emphasize that you don't try to make similar pictures (same as "don't try this at home" which is dull, but we do get a lot of reports of people walking down the tracks, sometimes with lethal endings)
